Does anyone know if such a [website] exists? I have the formula from my own bank KBC, website documents
B = (W - M) x T / 365 x A, where:
B = The Break Funding Fee.
W = The Fixing Rate prevailing at the date of the existing fixed rate applying to the loan was set.
M = The Fixing Rate prevailing at the switching/redemption date for the unexpired time period of the Fixed Rate Period.
T = Period of Time (from the switching/redemption date) in days to the end of the Fixed Rate Period.
A = Principal amount which is subject to the existing fixed rate and which is being switched or redeemed.
I'm not aware of any fixed-rate mortgage break fee calculator for Ireland, but for anyone else with a similar question, if you provide your mortgage details in this other thread, I or someone else will calculate an estimate of the early breakage charge / break funding fee.
It is, however, quite easy to work out if your break fee will be zero (as explained on Paul F's other thread, I believe); if the interbank rate now for the remaining period (M) is higher than the interbank rate for the prospective term when you fixed then (W), you end up with a negative number and hence pay nothing. Right? And I think this forms part of most banks' formulae.
