I've a couple of bank accounts (savings accounts) in the Republic of Ireland where I lived previously. I'm now working abroad for the next few years.

Is there any problem keeping these accounts open and continuing to pay DIRT on them instead of taking the money abroad?

Many thanks

I dont believe there is any problem in relation to keeping the accounts open. As far as I am aware, if you are a non-resident, you would not be liable for DIRT. You should contact your bank, give them your up-to-date details and sign the declaration required to avail of the exemption from DIRT.
