iPod Touch (2nd gen) - error 1604

Has anyone else had 1604 error on an iPod Touch or iPhone 3G? Got it when updating and now the device won't restore.

I've tried all the (stupid) suggestions that I can find, have given up, and am sending back to the online retailer I bought it from for a refund.

Considering getting an iPod Touch? Save yourself the hassle and don't. This is the last iPod I buy.

How they have managed to turn what could/should be a simple process into iTunes and all that goes with it I'll never understand.

Have iPod - but not that problem. Searching the web for the problem I had I hit upon a help site. For your problem here are the results...... hand website to bookmark.....
