Investment property insurance ... who are you using?

Hi all,

The insurance on my investment property will be expiring in the middle of March, so I'm expecting my renewal letter from Zurich in the coming days.

Prior to last year, I was with Axa for about 5 years, but last year's renewal quote from them jumped significantly so I searched around and went with Zurich instead.

I'm just wondering what companies' people have gone with for their buy to let insurance since the start of the year?

Sorry Ger1966, I’m with Axa too. Mind you I haven’t received the quote for this year yet. They were by far the most competitive when I started 7 years ago.

I used Aviva in Sept 2021, it was the cheapest quote at the time however I may have had certain limitations as I am living abroad.

Thanks @HyperionDayz , @Cork22

The Zurich renewal email arrived yesterday evening and premium is €264 (last year's was €254)

I went as a "new" customer to Zurich and that came in at €282
Axa was €468
Aviva was €478

I found Allianz on line to be very good. I had one claim and I could not fault the way they handled it.

Thanks @Ravima. It's a little more expensive than Zurich, but the cover appears to be better. Thanks for the suggestion!

When it comes to insurance, we usually focus on the cost & maybe their customer service when it is being renewed. From bitter experience, the key performance metric for me is how they handle the claims. I've learned the hard way not just to look at cost as the deciding factor.

Both my neighbor & I had similar claims for similar house fires with different companies - how they handled the claims were so different. My neighbor re-building started weeks later while we had to wait over 8 months to get the funding to start the re-build.
