I am contemplating investing in property in Liverpool, but really know nothing about investing in the UK. All the leg work has been done by a family member who is also investing, so I am pretty comfortable with the risk exposure.
This is my situation. I have a property in Dublin, but am currently working in New York.
Would I be able to get a sterling mortgage or would I be better off getting a Euro mortgage, and where would be the best place to get one.
Thanks

You can get Sterling mortgages from IIB and Capital Home Loans - subsidiary of Permo in UK. As far as I know it's next to impossible to get euro mortgages on a UK property. Of course you can always do an equity release on your Irish property. Where are you thinking of buying in Liverpool?

I am currently purchasing a UK property and did a lot of research into getting a euro mortgage but it is impossible. I am in the process of applying through CHL but you will need to go through a broker and open a UK bank account. When opening a UK account you will have to bring all forms ID, utilities bills, account statements etc. bring as much as you can as the high st banks have measures in place against fraud.

CHL have a good product at the moment at a rate 5.59%, 115% rental cover and up to 90% LTV. This product attracted me as most banks look for 125% rental cover and it is only fixed for 3 years.

The property is in Speke, near to the airport. Its a new development of semi detached houses.
