Hi

Here is a new one on me:

I have a VAT registered Irish company.

I supplying goods to a VAT registered UK company.
Delivery to the UK company.

I am purchasing the goods from a VAT registered UK company.

So delivery is from UK to UK.
But payment is from me to UK for the goods and from my UK customer to me.

a)
Does my supplier charge me UK VAT (this supplier has, even though they would normally not charge me VAT when I purchase goods that are imported to Ireland)?
b)
Do I charge my customer Irish VAT (I dont think so as I normally wouldnt)?

Any ideas?

James

I have been in the same situation and unfortunately if the Uk company deliver direct to other Uk company they will charge VAT you can claim back this Vat from Uk but in my experience this took up to 6 months. The only way you can avoid this is to get them to deliver them to you and you redirect them to Uk company.
