I am trying to connect to my work network from my home laptop through vpn client and then remote desktop , i have 2 options internet wise.
- Wireless (54mbps) which works fine and i can connect
- Lan or physically connecting my laptop to the netgear modem using a cable (1GBPS) , and i can seem to get onto internet and through the VPN client connection but it wont connect to my remote desktop this way
Is there anything i am missing as my understanding is that the LAN connection is much faster than the wireless optin and should have no problem connecting ?
PS i need the lan connection to work as i will be working down the country at some stage and need to ensure i can connect without wireless being available
