Internal Coating popping off 1.5 yo "Le Creuset" casserole dish which cost €150

I have a large Le Creuset casserole dish for approx 1.5 years.

On last use, the enamel started popping off the pot so took it straight off the heat. I returned same to well-known shop and they said that the Le Creuset rep would contact me.

Long story short, I was advised that this can happen when you move the pot from hot to cold and that we can continue to use the pot but they would not replace same. We have no recollection of any incident outside of normal pot usage - i.e. cooking in it, reheating, washing etc.

I have found an old thread in Homes and Gardens (sorry can't link to same) that says it will do no harm but that I can get it re-enammelled if I require.

I feel that the pot should be replaced as it was dangerous when the enamel was popping out of the pot. I do not feel that we should pay for it to be re-enammelled.

I would appreciate views on our next step. We spent over €150 on it.

Strange. I have had a number of Le Creuset pots for the past 15 years and have never experienced this problem.

That's why we bought it. We heard they were virtually indestructible and had a lifetime guarantee.
If there is nothing that can be done fair enough but I would have thought we would be entitled to a replacement.

You could try a Small Claims Court case against your original retailer - you have no contractual relationship with Le Crueset.
