Can I insulate the flue as it exits the interior wall? I was thinking of stuffing attic insulation in by the flue (or as much as I can).
Looks like the plumber did a good job on fixing up the exterior wall, but left a nice hole on the inside. With the current weather, it's like an ice-box in the utility.
well, the space is so limited, it's not even possible to see the hole in the wall. So, my thinking is to compress as much attic insulation into the space (.5") between the boiler & the wall. Hopefully, it will plug the draughts.
Should be ok, or you could buy a can of expandable foam and inject it in. This will expand inside the hole and expand to fill every nook and cranny. You can buy this from any hardware store. Should cost approx €8.00.
