Interest Relief across borders?

I have a property in France with a French mortgage on it.
I have just inherited a property here in Ireland.

I'd like to rent the Irish property, but since there is no mortgage on it the rental income would be fully taxable.

Can I offset the interest on my French mortgage against my Irish rental income?
