Interent dialup disconnects after 15m:20sec

I have a Dell laptop connected to a standard domestic Eircom telephone line, with all calls routed through UTV Telecom.

The internet always seems to disconnect for no apparent reason. When I checked the UTV telecom bill, the dialup calls always end after 15 min 20 sec duration.

I think that's very odd. What could be causing it????

Is UTV internet or eircom your ISP? If it's eircom. they have multiple numbers that you can call. I had the same problem before and I changed the dial-up number and it went away.

Protocol
In Internet Explorer, go to Tools, then Internet Options, then click on the Connections tab, select your dialup connection, then click settings over on the right, then click the advanced button beside username and password, and make sure neither "disconnect if.." box is ticked.

Theres probably a quicker way of getting to that box but thats probably your problem!
