Hello

any idea how I can get my door on to the dishwasher again. As per the instructions in the manual - it just wont stay on! Was thinking about those really stong glues?? Any help would be great.

Thanks

why can you not get back on ? you can if necessary screw through the inner door panel Replace a few screws that is already there holding on the inner (stainless steel) door with ones long enough to go through the door panel and into the wooden door.
That will work I have seen it done

Thanks - yes the door like the kitchen presses.

Thanks - yes I see what you mean - will look at that tonight dinjoecurry.

are there plastic hooks of any kind left on the door? it might be fiddly but they aligh up with holes in the dishwaser front.

Otherwise, there might be holes around the edge of the dishwasher front where screws go in (from the inside) and through to the door.

You should be able to see what type of fixing system is in place on the existing door.

I had terrible problems getting my plastic "hooks" to line up but got it eventually. On my new dishwasher there were simple hooks and screws.

yes there are 2 plastic strips with these hooks but there is also 2 metal strips at the top which also slot into the actual dishwasher. As per the manual you align the lot and push on whilst also pulling up the door so the metal bits slot in and grip. Its a nightmare . MrBell has no patience at all with the door and what little I have has gone. It's so ugly looking and the kitchen looks awful - even when its clean & tidy.

that sounds like exactly what I had and I can't remember what I did to get it working, it just eventually popped in by fluke!

is it a whirlpool by any chance?

no it's not a Whirlpool, I'll try again tonight. Maybe the gods will look down on me with pity this time..................................

Thanks

Mine came off, because it swelled slightly, which you would expect with the heat and moisture. There wasn't enough clearance and it eventually snagged on the press beside it.

This happened about 18 months after it was installed. The guy who put in the kitchen fixed it for free.

If using mechanical fixings ie: screws/clips is not an option. Use a strong adhesive such as a tube of stixall or any Gun O Prene "no nails" type adhesive. Should be off the shelf in DIY hardware stores. Make sure you line up door panel properly and use adhesive tape to hold in place for 24 hrs or so until adhesive sets
