Not sure if this is the right forum, we built a large extension onto a cottage, due to financial issues we are having to finish the the project ourselves, the first fix stage is nearly complete and up untill now the building was covered by the contractors insurance ,now we want to insure the building maing against possible damage caused by storm or vandalism, the bank wont insure it and the broker we went to couldnt find us cover either. anyone any ideas?

A self build insurance company might cover you. We are being quoted from 1,395 (for 2year cover or until completion of project) for a 3430sq ft build. This may be excessive considering your almost finished 1st fix, but maybe they would tailor a package to suit you. Cheapest quote we have gotten is from Keystone insurance that covers all risks "Fire, strom, flood, malicious damage, fire brigade charges, removal costs, materials, cost to rebuild, excess is 400 for each & every claim" "Employers liablility insurance 13m, public liability 2.6m"
