Hi all

We are planning to rent out our house for about two weeks in the summer and are looking at the insurance implications. Our own insurance company does not offer short term cover for houses that are let, so does anybody know of any companies in Ireland offering this service?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

You won't get an insurance pol for two weeks - I would suggest that you contact a broker - Explain what it is you intend and they will probably get an insurer to agree to insure you on this basis - it will be more expesnive than standard house insurance ..so don't be expecting a 123 job .. also when property is let it changes the covers - Ask the broker

are you letting or home swapping.

If the latter, then your current insurer may assist.

If the property is a holiday home you can purchase a policy that advises the insurance company that you are letting out the property. Benchmark (underwritten by RSA) provide these policies as do a number of other providers.
