hi everyone,
need advice please, built a new home a year and half ago and decided to tile everywhere except bedrooms. was very happy with the job but in the last three months most of the tiles are popping up. so upset as the tiler used the correct grout etc putting them down as we have underground heating. we have a young family and can not afford to re;do them so its a nightmare. the tiles we also suitable for underground heating. asked the insurance broker informally if this type of thing would be covered with the house insurance .... we pay enough God knows, but he said no. In the mean time i ve heard about another lady who had the same problem and had them covered. the tiles cost us the best part of 10,000 after we had finished, Can anyone advise me.

thank you

You need to find out why it happened. If the tiler used the correct tiles, grout etc then why are the tiles lifting ? There has to be a reason. If there was a leak in the underfloor heating then it would be covered. If it is faulty workmanship then it is not covered but you can pursue the tiler for costs. If it a planning fault then the architect would be at fault. If the floors weren't level then the builder is at fault etc etc.

Get someone in to have a look and when you find out why exactly this happened then your broker may be better able to advise you.
