Hi,
I am having wooden floor put down. Tomorrow, in fact.

Might anyone know if there is any kind of heat insulation which can be put down under the wood? It does not seem to be usual, but I guess it must be worth doing!
thanks,
JM

Hi,
The floor will be semi-solid oak, laid on a concrete floor. The heating system is radiators.

thanks!

I dont see any need for secondary insulation assuming theres adequate insulation under the slab already. A secondary insulation may cause condensation problems.

I think with semi-solid floors there is a foamy sort of underlay that it is laid on, this would act as a barrier of sorts, the floors sits on it.

Have a look here - [broken link removed]
