Insulation internal Walls

Just wondering would insulating the internal walls in my home reduce noise within the house.Would I use standard insulating foam or is there something better that can be pumped into the walls.Basically it's to allow all memebrs of the family to enjoy their musical tastes without making me deaf in the process!

Not really answering your question on insulation but the older I get the more I hate noise especially from loud music - Metallica and the likes. Im a big fan of which aren't too expensive.
