Does anybody know if holiday homes qualify for the SEI insulation grants?

And would they qualify if the owner had already claimed such a grant for his/her primary residence?

You could email them on hes@seai.ie, they are very quick to answer you back.

If I could ask you a question around this area. We have been considering cavity wall insulation on a 2005 bungalow. My main worry from reading up on it is the issue of mould/damp travelling from the outside to the inside (we have regular plaster finish). Did you feel it was worth it if you had it done? Benefits etc.

Thank you.

Thank you, Sandals. Our house is a cavity (hollow) block build. We're about to have it insulated externally so I couldn't help you with your query. However, friends of our had their cavity walls pumped (I think they have a 4 inch cavity) and they haven't had any problems with dampness etc. And it made a huge difference to the house, especially this winter. I would think that if you use high quality exterior paint, you would cut down greatly on the possibility of dampness.
