I'm spending my weeknights removing the grout from our en suite shower as we have discovered it's been leaking for a few years (bungalow). Seeing mushrooms appear on the hall floor is not something you really want.
So some of the tiles are also popping off due to the amount of dampness and the adhesive letting go. I'm also suspecting that the plumbing into the mixer taps may also be leaking.
So, at this stage I'm thinking of taking all the tiles off and replacing it with an enclosed shower cabinet.
Of course that led me down the rabbit hole of bluetooth, speaker installed, moodlit cabinets. Definitely a bit of overkill. But.....
It is possible to get a shower cabinet which also doubles as a steam-room. Now, I've always enjoyed the steam-room at the gym/hotel spa, and fancy the idea of having one at home. But my wife is a baulking at the price. After all, me being able to fix the leaks, reinstall and re-grout the tiles is still an option.
So, has anyone any experience/have one of the shower enclosures or steam enclosures? Any feedback?
