Is it easy to install a spyhole in a front door? Anything to watch out for?
Also does it have another name besides "spyhole" as any searches for "spyhole" in AAM and other sites give a blank.

Just need to drill one hole & install

Anything to watch out for?

Just the people on the other side of the door

'Door viewer' is another name, try google

I think it's as simple as using a drill with a steady hand.

They screw into place after that.

Tip: The right size drill bit is important

Good luck

Be sure to follow the advice on drilling the finished hole size from both sides or you risk splitting the wood on the opposite face.

One very important point, fit at below what is considered normal eye level, say at about 1.3m above floor level- otherwise you won't be able to "view" children or short people!

Don't forget people can see in through your peephole ;) if they have a Peephole Reverser:

Get an "Auger" bit drill from one side and allow the bit to make a small hole through the otherside when it does this remove the bit and drill from the otherside thus not allowing the face side of the door to splinter.
