Hi,

chimney opening is only 33cm deep and i need at least 43cm for an inset stove, hence I need to build out my chimney by around 100mm.
the chimney is on an external wall.

Was is considered best practice for this task.

Somemone mentioned building it out with steel wall studs and the fireline slab from Gypsum.
Would anyone recommend using an insulated slab for the task.
Have used the Kooltherm product to insulate all the outer walls, can I put same around the chimney breast?

Thanks
