Insert SIM card message- vodafone

Phone stopped working yesterday evening for no reason and 'insert sim card' appeared on the screen.

Today i was told my sim card was damaged and had to get a new one.
So because of this i lost all data that I had saved to my sim including quiet a few valuable contacts that I hadn't recorded else where.

ANy one have a similar problem and get data/numbers back.

Got absolutely no satisfaction from Vodafone customer care.

All the data is still on the sim card - unless they deleted it of course - try the sim card in alternative phone and while the operator logo will not appear you should be able to copy the sim numbers to the phone and then upload them back on to the new sim

A lot of messing but well worth it.

I have lost so many phones in the past that I have a spare sim at home with all my details on it

When I put sim in to another phone, I get the 'insert sim card' message and no options to do anything.
all the data should still be on the card it is just that the card cannot seem to be read?

Bring it back into the store you bought it, they should have sim card reader that will transfer the numbers from one sim to the new one. That is as long as the sim is not damaged - sounds like it could be
