Inquest query

Hi,
we received notification of our father's inquest to be held early next year.We feel that he died directly as a result of lack of care in hospital A&E (internal bleeding due to head trauma yet no brain scan given until he began vomitting hours later).
We do not want to take a medical negligence case against the hospital but want to ensure that this does not happen to another family that attends this hospital and want this highlighted at the inquest.
My question is should we have a Solicitor present at the Inquest to ask the relevant questions even though we do not intend taking any further action?
Any help would be appreciated

Hi Henrietta,

I'm very sorry about your loss and the circumstances of it.

Yes I would say it would be a good idea to speak to a solicitor you trust so that you have someone to speak for your at the inquest. Look for someone with experience in the area. Your solicitor can help you in many ways that have nothing to do with issuing proceedings.
