Not sure if this is the best section but here goes.
A friend will shortly be inheriting a number of overseas properties due to a bereavement. Very genorously, the friend (relative of the deceased) has "nominated" us as benificiaries of one of these properties - this happened some months ago. When the dust settles, and if there aren't any restrictions or complications, we intend to sell the property
A few questions - will it be necessary for us to be present at the reading of the will and whatever else is involved? Because if so, it will involve a long trip and time off work may be difficult.
What legal and or/tax implications are there likely to be as a result of being bequeathed this property or by selling it?
Don't want to bother our friend with any of this at the moment obviously but we need to have an idea of what is to be expected - if anyone can help?
