I have a question that hopefully someone can shed some light on for me.
My Mother died in March of 2007 and left all of her estate to be divided amoungst her 3 children (my 2 brothers and I.)
One of my brothers has filed for chapter 7 Bankruptcy on Feb 28 2007, he lives in Massachussettes.
Since the amount of money he will be recieving is only about 1/4 of what he owed what will happen to his portion?
Also, I have heard that people have a right to refuse an inheritance --
Thereby it will be split amoung the remaining people. Can he still refuse to accept his portion of the estate, or does he lose that right because of his Chapter 7 Status.
Thanks,
Gilly
