Hi, I have done a search but don't seem to be able to find the answer to my question so hope someone can help.
My mother passed away a year ago without leaving a will. She and my father never married however she later married someone else and was married at time of death. She was predeceased by my grandfather just a month earlier and she had 2 siblings. So my question is, in terms of my grandfathers estate, which he had said in his will that he wanted divided among his 3 children (he was a widower) that were alive at the time of his death, where does that leave my stepfather and I (I also have two full siblings and we are all over 18)? She had no children with my stepfather. There is no suggestion that there will be any animosity over the will (yet!) but I just wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation and what happens?
