Inheritance from Uk

QUOTE=murphin;1405690]I have received a inheritance of 130 k sterling from my late aunts estate in the uk as I was named as a joint trustee with my sister who lives in England. We have already paid inheritance tax in the uk as the estate was slightly above the £325 threshold. Is there any way to avoid paying tax here as well, Do I have to declare it here even if I don't lodge any of it here ?[/QUOTE] I assumethis related to a remittance basis query as you are UK domiciled!

If you are resident and domiciled in Ireland then you subject to Irish CAT, if you are non domiciled and not resident for the last 5 years you may not be subject to Irish CAT.

You may be entitled to a credit for the UK tax paid. [broken link removed]

Thanks for your help Joe 90. I do live here (15 years) but also have address in UK and Bank accounts over there too.
