We have a two year old and another on the way and are hoping to move house in Dublin before the eldest starts school. I had thought that once you were living within the catchment area of a school that your child would be guaranteed a place but I've heard of people putting their very young children's names down for even local secondary schools.
Can anyone explain the system in Dublin for school places? Also, if we are looking at moving to a certain area in Dublin, where can we find information on the schools there?
Would be grateful for any help with this, we don't want to move house only to find out that there is no room in the local school for our children.
