Hi folks,

Currently thinking of total refurbishment of house. i.e.

rewiring
replumbing
plastering
new windows

with the exception of the windows the outside of the house will barely change.

Do I need Planning permission for this work.

Regards,

P

No.

As far as I know, the only time you need PP for internal renovations is if the house is a protected property.

You are also free to change your windows as you see fit, though I imagine this has to be within reason.

agree with above, with changing the windows you are required to make sure that they comply with Part B (fire regs) of the building regulations allowing an escape window from every bedroom or inner room. Your window manufacturer should be well aware of the regulations though.
