Index Tracking Funds

Hi everyone,

I wanted to invest in an index tracking fund. Apparently, because they use far fewer expensive fund managers, the fees are alot cheaper. There seem to be hundreds available to choose from in the Uk, with average annual fees around 0.5%.

The only company as far as I can see offering this sort of fund in Ireland is Quinn (Freeway Funds). They charge 1%.

Does anyone know of any other companies here offering tracker funds?

Thanks for any advice.

I don't know if anyone offering tracker funds in Ireland will beat Quinn for fees on index trackers-some brokers can arrange access to other tracker funds at reduced rates-maybe the likes Of LD Ferguson (www.ferga.com) might be a good place to start.

Of course investing on the basis of cost alone is not a good idea.

An alternative is to look at Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).

If it is a single premium investment that you are looking for, then there are 9 tracker funds available on www.bond.ie . All 9 funds have an AMC of 1% and if you invest before 31/05/2007 you can reduce this to 0.90%pa.

Investment is with Standard Life on an 'Execution Only' basis.

Interest in site already declared.
