Indepenent UK Mortgage Advice

I am a homeowner in Ireland & have recently moved to the UK. I am in the process of arranging a mortgage for a property in London. Can anyone suggest a good, solid independent mortgage site which offers up quotation comparisons or even a UK forum site such as this one? I have trawled through old threads but can't really see much on this subject. Most sites I tried are either charging or require registration (neither of which I want to do right now)
