Independent Contractor or Tied Agent? Or both??

The Representitive is engaged in the business of selling insurance products on his or her own account as an independent Contractor, (Tied Agent, as defined in the Insurance Act 1989 or any amendment thereto) :confused::confused:

What does this mean to you?

For example, if the person is a Tied Agent of Irish Life, they are selling only products from Irish Life. You are not getting a good choice and should go to either a Multi Agency Intermediary who represents a few different companies or, better still, go to an Authorised Advisor who can advise you on any financial product, whether or not they have an agency with the company.
