dear all,
we have recently have a really really bad experience with a supposedly competent surveyor. i would love to publish this company's name as well as the so called 'service' we have had from this surveyor so that others arent caught out and waste a lot of money, having to get this work re-done.
I assume I am not allowed post in this website, but is there a site that i can?

I assume if you have a factual account that can be backed up with documentation, and if you were willing to publish your name to stand behind your story the mods may not have a problem with it.
Then again, since irish lawyers et al have been so busy earning money on houses in the past years, our laws regarding internet are skewed greatly in the favour of those providing shoddy service and their ability to get away with it.
Perhaps you could post on a us based site and put a link here.
If your story is factual, and you would stand behind it in court, I don't see a problem.
basically received a report, with so many errors its ridiculous, even the address of the property is incorrect. now the surveyor is refusing to carry out a valuation as promised, so have to fork out another 150euros to get same done.
Sounds very similar to an experience I recently had. The guy couldn’t even read the number on the door, a total waste of money. I got a standard report which was totally generic and barely related to the property at all.
Not blaming anyone but I got the recommendation reading a post on this forum.. so beware.
If your survey was in north Dublin perhaps you could send me a PM with the name, perhaps it was the same guy!
