I have just finished working on a income tax calculator for a website I am developing.

You can see it at: [broken link removed]

I would appreciate any feedback you might like to give and if you know anyone who might benefit from it please pass it on.

Hi Hon3ymonster!!

Just tried your calculator there for a few incomes under and over the limit at 20%, however when i put in €36k it calc some at 41% however the limits for 2009 are €36400 at 20%!!

Maybe i missed something!

You can find a list of calculators at this link (I wrote the Excel based one) and compare their features against your own calculator:

It might be worth pointing out on the output page that the values for 2009 are calculated solely using the mini-budget data ie the levy rates applying in Jan to April were not used in the calculations.

Well done for taking the time and effort to prepare this- I know from my own efforts that it isn't the easiest job in town.

Re the previous post which correctly points out an error in the standard rate cut-off points you are using, here are the details for 2009:

Personal Circumstances Tax Year 2009

Single / Widowed without dependent children €36,400 @ 20%, Balance @ 41%
Single / Widowed qualifying for One Parent Family Tax Credit €40,400 @ 20%, Balance @ 41%
Married Couple - one spouse with income €45,400 @ 20%, Balance @ 41%
Married Couple - both spouses with income €45,400 @ 20% (with an increase of €27,400 max), Balance @ 41%
