Hi
I have been offered an incentivised career break in work, whereby I leave for 3 years on a career break and get a one off lump sum of 75% of my yearly salary. This amount is subject to the Paye and PRSI. I have to leave before the 31st of October. While at the moment I am not on the upper band of tax, this lump will certainly push me up. So im wondering if there is any way I can get the most out of the sum. Im sure I can claim back some tax for the remainder of the year but can I claim into next year (provided I don’t work, which I the plan as im plan leaving country in January).
Any advise or help please?
Thanks
Karl
