Importing Roof Slates

Has anyone imported roof slates?
I got a price from a roofing company for €1.80 per slates.
Blue/black fiber cement slate textured finish
My house and garage will need at least 6000 slates!!
Can't justify that cost as is.
 
Got a quote from Capco recently for their Berona slate at 1.10 for a 600x300. It's their basic slate, if I recall correctly, I was more interested in their natural slates which were around 2 euro.
 
I got a natural slate from Capco for €1.53 each, if you are looking for fibre cement thrutone €1.23 each!
 
I was in a showroom the other day and the salesman quoted me 89c excluding vat for a natural slate imported from china, might be worth a look

I dealt with Blue Bangor Slate Company, I found them very helpful and fast, with better prices then other companies, I was dealing with a guy called Sean, give him a call on 0868068396, he will drop out with samples of slates, thats what he did for me, there shop is based in Inchicore.

Oh one more thing, I heard them slates from China are crap, not made for our Irish weather,
