Importing for US - Taric question and figures checking

Sorry for this, I know it probably gets asked a lot. Was looking for a little advice.

I am buying a watch that will be coming from the US (value $3200 +40 shipping) and I want to get my figures in place.

I'm currently trying to figure out the import duty that will have to be paid on the watch. After doing a [broken link removed] search, it would appear the code I should get quoted on the package is [broken link removed] as it is a Wristwatch with a non precious metal watch case that has a manual / automatic wind movement.

The problem I'm having is I can't figure out how to find the import duty rate for the item from the above taric code. Using the [broken link removed] page it just tells me to be more precise / No Restrictions

Can any one tell me what the import duty rate based on the taric code is or better yet how I can find this my self...

As for the figures I believe this to be right

1) Import duty (at some %) is based on value of watch + shipping costs
2) VAT (@21.5%) is based on value of watch + shipping + import duty
Total likely to pay is based on the #2 above + handling fees of courier service.

Question answered regarding the import duty.

Any non precious metal automatic watch that costs over €17.77, the import duty will be €0.80c.

Any non precious metal automatic watch that costs under €17.77, the import duty will be €0.30c.

This is directly from a call to revenue office.

When you have factored in vat shipping, duty and insurance are you going to save much on your watch?
