I have recently seen some very competively priced taxi vehicles in the UK which I would like to import for resale here in Ireland. With the Euro strong against STG seems a good time to do this.
I have a few questions and want to avoid any obvious pitfalls I haven't considered.
Do the same VRT rates apply for taxi vehicles as ordinary vehicles?
If the first one works, I would like to import a few more. At what stage would I be deemed to be a motor trader/dealer and if so what regulations (and associated costs) would apply?
Will VAT be chargeable on my sales only when I exceed threshold or would I have to pay VAT on first few sales also?
Any other pitfalls to be considered?
