Import duty charges

I have ordered a piece of musical equipment from the US which is being delivered by courier. It weighs 11 lb and value is $200. Would anybody know if I should expect to pay import duty on this item?

Hi

You will have to pay vat and customs duty.
If you want to check the customs duty , contact 067 33533.

The vat is probably 21%

By the way, the charge is on the total price, ie includes shipping cost.

UPS want €38 COD so that works out at 21% of the cost + shipping.
Maybe i got away with duty?

It was probably rated 0% for Duty - wouldn't say you got away with it !!!
