immersion boiling

when the immersion is left on for longer than an hour the water boils and comes out of the taps scalding - what is wrong and what can i do?

Open the top of the immersion element ( when it is turned off) and turn the immersion down to 60 degrees

If it is already down the stat propabaly needs replacing. You can buy pencil stats to replace the immersion stat or call an electrican to do it if you aren't sure.

Just in case you're new to immersions - stat is thermostat!
