Hi myself and my girlfriend are buying a house together, i'm a FTB my girlfriend isn't, we've heard of other couples putting the FTB's name only on the deeds to avoid stamp duty, has anyone done this? or know anything about this topic? thanks!!
i think if your not married and the mortgage is in her name only and the deeds too,you can get away with it but if mortgage is in both names i think your snookered ,but she can claim first time buyer interest relief while you will get normal relief . What happens if you split up ? always think of all eventuallities !
