Hi all
Just looking for some thoughts. IB came to an end at beginning of April SW wrote to the UK back in Feb (and again in May) to request details of national insurance contributions. (I should have approx 20 yrs contributions up to moving over here.)

I contacted Newcastle last week to be told they have never received any such requests from SW here in Ireland. As my payment stopped at beginning of April I have no money coming in since but I still have to submit sick cert from the GP. OH is working but on reduced hours and the community welfare officer doesn't want to know as OH earns slightly (and I mean slightly) over the threshold for any assistance from him.

What should I do now with regards to chasing up the UK request with the SW, all I'm getting from them is call us back next week we might hear something by then. All very well, but now we're starting to get into some financial difficulty.

Thanks

While you may not have an entitlement to basic weekly Supplementary Welfare Allowance due to the means test of your household income, you may have an entitlement to help with your mortgage if you have one.

If your OH works 30 hrs pw or less, and you meet the other criteria for Mortgage Interest Supplement (see link below), then you can apply.

Depending on the number of days worked, does your OH have an entitlement to Jobseeker's payment?
