Thinking of going to IKEA for new kitchen
Has anyone got a kitchen from them and did they hv any problems?
There are some post on this site but seem to be for Belfast branch.
My son has done out the measurements on the planner but id rather see the units in the shop.
Do you need to make an appointment to get assistance with the planner in the Dublin branch?
Any help would be great
 
I have an Ikea kitchen (3 years old now) and am delighted with it.

Their room planner is great, but definitely go and see them in the showroom, you need to have a proper look at the doors and handles and what not before you decide. Also, they have room-sets of full kitchens, so you might get ideas and want to change your design. (Whatever you do get deep drawers in your base units, they are so much better than normal cabinets).

Any of the threads and or posts on here relating to the Belfast Ikea kitchens are totally applicable to the Dublin one, the products are exactly the same.
Mine was installed by my general contractor as part of a larger job, and the carpenter said he was very impressed by the quality of the units.

You do need to make an appointment with the kitchen department when you buy your kitchen - but ring well in advance as they only have a few slots each day. They will design it with you from scratch, but if you already have a design you upload to their website, then they download it in the store and go over it to make sure you haven't left anything out. But it's really worth going on a "go see" visit before the day you order.
 
I have an Ikea kitchen and love it. I bought from Dublin with no problems at all. Like Dubgem I think you should take your time to use the planner at home. Make at least 2 visits to Ikea to see how EVERYTHING looks. By that I mean insides of units. Sometimes you think you have it perfect for you, but realise either a bigger or smaller unit with perhaps baskets instead of drawers work better for you for instance? It's all subjective.
The first time I didn't call ahead for an appointment with the kitchen planners. Instead I made an appointment when I was there. We were given a time that was an hour later, so we mooched around, then ate. We were very happy with the advice we were given and went away to think about it.
Some weeks later we visited again.
The second time I didn't pre arrange an appointment either but got one straight away. We had then made minor changes to our kitchen plan and were pleased that we were totally satisfied with every aspect of our plan. But we just wanted the planner to look over it for us. Like the first time, she was extremely helpful and informative.
The storage in our new kitchen is wonderful and we as a family love it and how it looks. You get what you pay for and this is exactly what I want for now. I like the idea that I can change it around if I want. I don't think I will though, I love it.
I didn't buy my worktops from them, only the units. Maybe shop around for them for a better looking selection like I did.


Hope this helps you. Just take your time and use the planner. Even if you dont buy your kitchen from Ikea use the planner to help you structure your new kitchen
