Hi everyone,

Have been on the affordale list for the last 2 and a half years and have gotten nowhere!! Decided to try my luck with a mortgage again and ive my partner and i have been approved for €300k by IIB homeloans?? Dont really know anything about them, so was wondering if anyone could give me some info on them?? Or if i should stay clear?? We're delighted that we have been approved for that amount because we never thought we would be and this means that we can now buy privatley!! All info would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

I have dealt extensively with IIB in the past number of years as well as I had my mortgage with them until recently.
In my experience IIB scores very high with customer and broker satisfaction. They have quick turn around times from when you submit the application form until the cheque is drawn. Great Bank to deal with.

Im in agreement too! Have my mortgage with them..have had no problems at all!

We had a few bumps but I blame them on my Mortgage Broker, IIB were very helpful in the matter!

Thanks so much everyone for getting bcak to me!! Its all new to me, never in a million years thought we would get a mortgage for a decent enough amount!! Thought it might have been to good to be true!! Feel a lot better now!! Thanks again for all your comments...

Don't mean to put a dampner on things, but just because a bank is willing to give you a certain amount doesn't mean that that figure is one you can cope with.

Do check what your monthly payments would be, stress test these to take account of any potential rise in interest rates, consider any changes in your personal circumstances (e.g. loss of job, addition to the family etc.) and make sure that you feel you can afford to service this loan before tying yourself into anything.

If all the above works for you, best of luck with the house hunting!

Incidentally, as far as I know IIB will put a limit of 97% of actual purchase price. Others, e.g. First Active, Haven and others will extend 100% to qualifying applicants. Do also compare interest rates to make sure you're getting the best deal.
