Sorry for bringing this to the fore again, but I’m trying to prevent accidents. Entering the Jack Lynch Tunnel and heading for Tipperary, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Kildare, Dublin etc is not a comfortable drive. Your head is telling you the east most lane is for East Cork, Waterford, Wexford etc and the other lane is for all points north of Cork City. There is writing on the traffic lanes but heavy traffic means you can’t see this writing. There is one overhead sign showing relative lanes, but by the time you see this there’s a good chance you’ll find it trying to change lanes.
If you are heading for the Dublin Road get into the right hand lane as early as possible and obey the speed limits. Otherwise you’re dicing with your car stopping paint with another or worse.
