Due to be made redundant in the next few weeks. I have been approached by a Company that would like for me to do a specific project circa 4 to 6 months, they do not wish to have me as an Employee so have asked if I would work in a Consultant capacity.

Giving the current climate I am seriously considering it but a bit apprehensive if this will in some way have any effect on future SW Claims that I may have, for example, if I finish up in 4 months and I have no further work so need to sign on, does being self employed for those 4 months cause any problems. I would be including the income I would be getting from this Company for Tax and PRSI etc.
