IE Explorer on Windows CE won't work on wirless but will on ethernet

I got one of the those extremeely cheapo mini laptops in maplin. They run Windows CE. I can aparently log on to wirelss at home and in work but when I actually open explorer it comes up with that error page...cannot find DNS server etc.

Now at work I can use an ethernet connection and it's fine (will try that at home later)

Any wisdom, I 've messed around with Internet Options to little avail. When it works incidently the bottom right hand corner shows "Internet" but when it doesn't it shows "Local Intranet"
 
Is there a physical switch to turn on wireless on the laptop? Also, on the recent bacth of toshibas you can switch wireless on/off by using the function key plus one of the F buttons.

Try googling the make/model and wireless switch.
