Ideas for porch flooring?

My builder has just arrived with a granite flag stone for the front door porch. I told him I don't want them because they look like they would be too hard to keep clean. He now has me under pressure to pick something else. Has anyone any ideas? It's an open porch. I was happy enough with just concret steps until he told me it would look better with some kind of flag stone on it...

Any ideas anyone?

Hi Tilly, I think flagstone would be lovely in a porch, perhaps with a built in floor mat so you don't have to worry about keeping the flagstone so clean as you won't be walking straight across it, but if I were you I would put down victorian tiles. Beautiful but of course expensive!!

theres no contest between granite flagstones versus concrete steps... its a no brainer.... granite all the way.

it would actually be a lot easier to keep a solid mass of granite cleaner than concrete that thends to break up and cause dust
