Was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what to get our dad for his 60th?
5 kids so have a bit of cash to play with. He has no real hobbies - workaholic although now retired. Likes to travel.

For my FIL's 70th we all chipped in and sent him and MIL on trip stateside. They spent a few days in New York and then travelled out to Conneticut where my MIL's sister had emigrated to years ago so there were plenty of long lost relatives to visit. They loved it.

Great value ship cruises available around europe, arctic circle or worldwide - at reasonable cost.

For my dad's 60th the whole family went over to New York for a few days - meant a huge amount to him for us all to make the effort, he loved it :D

A cruise would be a great idea ...also you could put together an album of his life...photos and events from when he was born, though to getting married, kids etc...you could put in any momentos, old postcards, ticket stubs etc...

A good quality comfortable reclining chair.... great if he likes to relax, do a bit of reading etc

A couple of ideas which worked for us :

For my mum's 65th, the whole family (7 people) booked a beautiful villa in Portugal and had a great time. My parents were delighted to have a family holiday again, with us all grown-up this time.

For my mum's 70th, we put together a 'This is Your Life' book with anecdotes, stories, photos etc from loads of her friends, family, ex-work colleagues, people from her home town etc. She said that was one of her best presents ever, since it brought back so many memories.

Or maybe an exotic holiday somewhere - if they have always had a dream to go somewhere specific..
