I don't understand. Normally your property will be part of a privately managed housing or apartment development with a management company who decided what, if any, property management agent to engage on a contractual basis. You seem to be talking about an individual house which doesn't sound like the same sort of situation. Perhaps you can clarify?

I know of a person that manages property for people that travel and have properties , i have no connection to this person. PM me if you want the details, but it depends on where in the contry your property is as i think he only deals in leinster area,

Recommend and property management agencies rarely go in the same sentence!!
Maybe if you gave an indication of where the house is it might help.
IME we went with a big name company and had a nightmare with their tenants and services. When we ditched them we went with a guy out on his own and for half the money we've had twice the service and the house is in the best condition it's ever been.

I use Accommodation Lettings based in Terenure for my properties in Dublin. Have used them on and off for about 10 years and I can unreservedly recommend them. As far as I'm aware, they only operate in Dublin though so not sure if that's suitable.

Is it uncommon to use Property Managent Agencies to rent?
I have posted loads of times asking about Agencies & no-one seems to have anything decent to say about them. There aren't that many of them in the phone book & I have heard some nightmare stories. Are any really trustworthy , has anyone ever had a good experience with them?

I sometimes wonder about the pedantic people that post on this forum, the guy simply wants to know if there is any company out there who will manage the rent, bills, tenants etc while he goes away travelling for the year so he has peace of mind.. Marcus my advice is google it or else contact an estate agent...

I have an apartment in Dublin but live 160km away and have made enquiries about Agencies but I am now going to continue to let it myself.
